Doigts de fée aka Lemony Flutter

Hi everyone!

There's no nail art for today, sorry. Today I will tell you more about a product you all know and that I bought in the beginning of September. I'm talking about Lush's Lemony Flutter. Yeah, I bought it 3 months ago, but I couldn't write a post about it before trying it!

Newbies: ready for Christmas

Hello there,

Although it's still November, I thought it was about time I showed you the nail polishes I bought a few weeks ago. I didn't show them until now because they're very Christmas themed. See for yourself!

It looks perfect for holiday nail art, doesn't it?
Let's start with the black polish. I really needed a new black polish so when I went shopping I accidentally bought two blacks from different stores. When I cam back home, I realised I had bought two black so on the next day I went back to the shop to switch with another polish. That's when I bought the polish next to the black one. It was really funny at the time. :) Of course I didn't try them at home, so I had to choose which one I want to keep.

So, this is Rimmel London's blackout. I kept this one because I thought it would be more opaque and easy to apply. Well, I can't compare it with the other polish, but I do think I chose the right one. On the picture you see two coats. One coat really isn't enough. It's too translucent, therefore a second coat is needed. Oh, I also tried it matte (which you saw in my previous Newbies post) and it looks amazing!

Next we have Park Avenue's taupe. This is the polish I bought instead of the second black. The funny story continues because when I came home with this polish and compared it with others I have, it looked a lot like my grey polish. Again I thought this wasn't a good purchase and yet I kept it. This was in the evening so with bad lighting. On the next day I compared them again and they were totally different. I was so relieved! :) This one is something between grey and purple, yeah it's taupe. It's really cool actually.

This too is two coats and application is very easy. This colour also looks good on your toes during wintertime!

This polish is very magical. I guess that's why Park Avenue called it Magical night! ;) When I first saw this bottle I thought it would be a sparkling light blue polish. Well, I was wrong. It was a bit of a disappointment. Nevertheless, it's perfect for Christmas so I don't complain at all! In fact you've already seen some nail art with this polish. I'm talking about the early snowflakes! This is also two coats.

Let's move on to the deep bright red polish. I really bought this polish with the idea of Christmas in my mind. I know, a lot of Christmas links in this post!

This polish by Park Avenue is called Phantom of the opera. At the moment I have a lot of reds in my collection, however, every one of them is unique this one included. This is also two coats and maybe, but I'm not very sure, it's a bit darker than on the picture.

Now we've reached the last polish of this post. Unfortunately I can't tell a lot about it, because I haven't tried it yet. It's Rimmel London's Midnight mistletoe from the glitter bomb collection. Christmas is written all over it! I didn't include a picture of this polish, because it's lame to just put a glitter polish on bare nails without any concept. When I find the perfect nail art design, for Christmas of course, I'll share it with you.

Phew, that's a lot to take. Congratulations if you read all of this! :) What do you think of my new polishes? Is there a polish you would also like to buy? Let me know!

Surrounded by winter

I've only had two autumn designs this year and I know autumn isn't over yet, but I already have this wintery feeling so from now on no more autumn designs, only winter ones. :)
The nail art I'll be showing you today was on my to-do list for quite some time. This combination of a gradient and ruffian and French manicure is very unique. It even gets more special when you make it matte!

It's literally surrounded by winter. ;) Did you get 'em?

I really like this combination of blues with a nude polish. It just fits! What do you think?

Early snowflakes

Hello there,

Today was a very cold day here in Belgium. Winter is really upon us! However, I can't really complain, because it's worse in the USA. :) Therefore I decided to share some snowflakes nail art with you!

So, I made some transparent snowflakes. It is a very elegant and subtle design. And don't forget it's very easy. First I put a base coat, then I drew the snowflakes with my white Barry M nail art pen. After that I put this translucent glittery polish. It's a new polish I bought a couple of weeks ago. There will be a post about my new polishes soon. I haven't posted it yet, because it's very holidays themed.

What do you think? Do you like these cute and easy snowflakes?

Dry brush for autumn

Hello there,

How about another autumn-inspired nail design?
What I did is some dry brush nail art (I told you I loved it!). I used autumnal colours like red, orange, yellow and brown. I even added some gold to make it shine more. And I put something extra! Let's see some pictures.

Poppies for Remembrance Day!

As you may or may not know, today's a special day. It's Remembrance Day! On this day we commemorate World War I. Another very famous thing associated with WWI is a poppy. This beautiful red flower was very common in Flanders fields. John McCrae wrote a poem about the war and even mentioned the poppies. For those of you who don't remember the poem, here's a link to it.

In Flanders fields the poppies grow...

That's it for today! In case you have a day of because of Remembrance Day, enjoy it! I'm sure I will!

What do you think of my poppies nail art? Let me know! :)

Autumnal trees

I recently realised I haven't done any autumn nails this year! :o
Therefore I made some yesterday and I'm going to show them in this post. I know you haven't heard from me for a whole week, but I really didn't have time to paint my nails. (They were black with a matte top coat for 5 days!) In the following weeks I will have a lot of work for school. However, I made a schedule so that I can have some time for this blog too!

You can see the many pictures I took of my autumnal trees. :)
It was very easy to make. First I used a sponge with different colours and then I drew the form of the tree. I finished it with some gold sponged on the tree and of course a matte top coat. Yes, it's the Orly one. You can see it is quite matte. This top coat really stays a mystery for me. In case you don't know what I'm talking about, read this post.

Here's one last picture to admire! What do you think of this autumn-inspired design?

Newbies: Start of school shopping

I haven't showed you yet what I bought in the beginning of September! At the time I didn't have a camera and after that I did the 10 days of Halloween so there was no time in between to post this amazing haul.
