Hearts mosaic

I recently became a member of Nailpolis. This is a great site where a lot of nail artists share their work. I'm so happy that I am one of them! Now there's a contest for Valentine's Day and I'm participating. It would mean the world to me if you vote. :)

The nails I'll be showing you today are the ones for the contest. I wanted to make something special and I hope I succeeded. At least for me it was a big task because it took me almost an hour to make them. It was worth it so I'm not complaining.

I wanted to create this contrast between the hearts in the middle and the pastel background. The mosaic had to be light and all about the hearts. Just as Valentine's day. :)

What do you think? Share your thoughts with me!

All the pieces for the puzzle

I know it's been a long time since I've posted. I didn't have time to make nail art and therefore didn't have any posts...
Now I'm back with some nail art. Not just any nail art. I made a puzzle (on my nails of course). I've always wanted to do this because it looks great and I love making puzzles.

Only the purple colour came out different. It became red.

What do you think?

As promised: tutorial for the birthday nails!

Here are the little tutorials for my birthday nails. I hope you can use them for your own birthday. A combination of different designs always looks great and catches the eye.

OK, first up is my thumb. I didn't make a real tutorial for this one because it's so obvious. You start with triangles like for a chevron design. Next you fill it in and the last step is to put some dots on the top.
The balloon design is my favourite. This one is also easy. First you make a half moon with the chosen colour. I even used the thick brush from the polish. Then I took a dotting tool and made something which looks like a heart. The last step is the black cord. Just draw some curved line with a nail art pen. It will look great whatever you do.

The steps for the middle finger aren't complete as you can see. I totally forgot to take  picture of the second step. It was too late when I realised. So first you start with drawing a white oval close to the tip of your nail. The space between the oval and your tip can be filled with some pink colour. Next you make thin lines on top of the 'cake'. These will represent the candles. And of course don't forget the flame! For the flames I used a dotting tool and a yellow polish.
I won't describe how to write a 17 on your nails. It's too obvious. :)
Now the last finger. Take a nail art pen a make some lines across your nail. It doesn't matter how and where. Take three colours and draw triangles next to the lines.
And it's done! Easy, isn't it?

Birthday nails!

Today's my birthday! :) Of course I made some special nail art for this unique day! You can also use it as inspiration for your birthday.
I made five different designs and tutorials. However, I won't show them today because it will get a long post and I have better things to do on my birthday! ;)

Don't you love them? That 17 looks perfect! I was so proud when I was ready.
Let's hope this "older" me will bring more inspiration and creativity to the blog! :)

Counting sheep in your sleep

The nail art I will show you today isn't something typical. I came up with this idea when I couldn't fall in sleep a couple of nights ago. Eventually the result was really nice. Have a look!

Yes, I know. The legs of the sheep are longer than in reality. :) Overall, I'm happy with this design and I should mention that it only took me 20 minutes to do one hand!

Let me know what you think!

Move like a penguin

I thought it was time to make penguin nails! Everyone should give it a try because it's easy and super cute! :)

Also, I'm sorry that you haven't heard from me this week. It was adjusting week! I hope that it will get better now.
What do you think of my nails?

Holographic nails for winter

Here's another nail polish I recently bought! It's also a special effect: holographic. I have to admit that I really love this effect. It's so colourful!

Of course I did some nail art with it. This light blue is also new to my collection. First I didn't know how to combine them, so I chose something easy.

What do you think? Are you also a fan of holographic nail polish? :)

Chameleon you said?

I've been busy the past few days. The end of my vacation really is here. :(
I decided to show you a new polish that I bought. It's one with a special effect. More particularly chameleon.

The colour changes a bit, but you can't see it that well. That's why I made a gif for you to see.
Here's the bottle and the other colour I used for the nail art. They are both new to my collection and it was the first time that I used them!

Sorry for the bad quality... The camera was on another program and I didn't realise until I saw the pictures. (I had already removed it from my nails.)
See you in a few days!

My nails for NYE!

I'm getting used to posting everyday! :) I'll do it as long as I can, but on Monday Jan. 6th school will start again... :( That means lees time for nail art and less posts for my blog!
Now the topic of my post: my nails and outfit for NYE! Eventually I chose to wear a dress that you have already seen on my blog. It was my first 'Inspiration from a dress'- post. Here's the link in case you don't know what I'm talking about. Of course I couldn't do the same nail art. There have been a few changes. At least one of the colours is different. Let's have a look.

Which design inspired by this dress do you like the most? This one or the one I did first?
Let me know! :)

Happy New Year! :)

As a new year starts, many people make some resolutions. And I am about to do the same! :) They are not so spectacular, but I do want to share them with you. It's a long list ( 7, the magical number!).

1. An important part of a blog is to have people who read it. So here are my wishes:
  • Facebook: For now the number isn't that big and that's why I won't dream big. I would be happy if there are more than 100 likes!
  • Pinterest/Instagram: Although Instagram is growing faster than Pinterest, the goal is the same: here also I want at least 100 followers.
  • Tumblr: Oh, I love Tumblr! The number is growing really fast and If it continues like this I'm expecting to have over 1000 followers at the end of 2014. (I hope even sooner!)
  • And now blogger itself: Well, this also is quite disappointing so 100 seems reasonable.
2. Most of my posts are nail art designs and I want to change that. I have some great DIY ideas and cooking should also be a part of this blog. Here's a little sneak peek.

I made these earrings as a present for my sister for Christmas. I used 5 euro cent and  some polish to make these. I really liked doing them and I'm planning to do more. If you're curious about the process, you'll soon read it on my blog! :) That's how I came up with the idea to show you for what else you can use nail polish.

3. My next resolution is to post more often. It won't be daily, though!

4. I think it's time to start some challenges on the blog like 31 day challenges or my monthly favourites. I was also thinking about reviewing the new polishes I buy. It's a start and who knows what brands I will be reviewing in the future! ;)

5. We're almost at the end. This past months I made a few tutorials for my nail designs. Still I want to make more of them. It's easier for you and actually, it doesn't take much time for me either.

6. This resolution isn't really something you'll see the result of, but I think I should mention it. Ever since I saw Cutepolish' video on You Tube about making a polish swatchbook, I wanted to make one. This year I hope it will happen!

7. Here's my last resolution! :) I already have a Facebook page and an account on Pinterest, Instagram and Tumblr, So maybe it's time to make one on Twitter!

That was it! I wish you a pleasant year, a lot of travelling and some memorable moments in 2014!
I'll be back soon with some nail art! ;)
